Irish Patchwork Society
Cumann Píosála na hÉireann
celebrating the art of patchwork & quilt making since 1981
The North Eastern branch (NE) of the Irish Patchwork Society (IPS) is a small branch based in Dundalk. We held a very successful solo exhibition in An Táin Basement Gallery in April 2022 and a number of our members have recently exhibited at exhibitions in Kilkenny, The Botanic Gardens in Dublin and the Quilt Fayre in Belfast.
Our first meeting this year will take place on Tuesday 20th September 2022, 10am to 12.30am in the Bridge Club, Ramparts Road, Dundalk. Thereafter monthly meetings will take place on the 2nd Tuesday commencing 11th October 2022. New members are always welcome but especially so as we move on from the Covid restrictions of the last few years. Beginner classes can be arranged. Guests are welcome for two meetings before they join as members of the IPS; meeting admission is €7.00 for members or guests. At our first meeting we will have a “Show-and-Tell” of members’ work, discuss our plans for the coming year and tea / coffee will be available.
During the year we will work on a variety of individual projects, themed or seasonal challenges and learn from our many experienced Quilters and Patchworkers. This year a number of our members will be giving demonstrations or workshops. We also hope to welcome back guest speakers for demonstrations and / or workshops, this may necessitate meeting on the second Saturday of a given month, advance notice will be given.
Prior to our first meeting we will be in The Marshes on Thursday 15 th September 2022 so please stop by to see examples of our work and have a chat with us. Further details are available on www.irishpatchwork.com or by email to the branch secretary, Fiona Lennon email@example.com.
