HANDS ACROSS THE BORDER 2023
Joint exhibition of the Irish Patchwork Society and Northern Ireland Patchwork Guild
“Hands Across the Border” is a joint exhibition held every two years and is displayed North and South of the Border throughout the year This cross border initiative pre-dates the Good Friday Agreement by a few years, the first collaboration between the two groups began with a joint exhibition in 1991, 32 years ago.. The choosing of the theme and the organisation alternate between the Irish Patchwork Society and the Northern Ireland Patchwork Guild .
This year it is the turn of the NIPG to launch and host and the chosen theme is “A Walk in the Park”. The exhibition will take place north of the border at the Curved Gallery, Bangor Library from May 4th to 30th with a formal opening on Friday May 5th at 2pm . The Exhibition will travel south in August to be shown at the Limerick School of Art and Design.
While the exhibition starts on Thursday 4th May, the formal opening is on Friday 5th at 2pm. All are welcome.
