The change of venue is unfortunate and on behalf of the Society the Executive Committe would like to thank the Western Branch organising committee who have worked extremely hard and managed to find an alternative venue at 9 days’ notice.
We are hoping to meet many of you at this AGM. It is the one chance we have every year to meet members from other branches and sit and chat about our common interest and get inspiration. It also gives you a chance to have your say about your Society.
The challenge for the attending members is a circular quilt 12 inches in diameter. The theme is 'Round and Round'. The viewers’ choice will receive the James Lalor Trophy and a miniature quilt made by last year’s winner.
Cas Holmes is our guest speaker in the afternoon. Cas is an award-winning artist renowned for her use of 'the found' and an author of four books for Batsford. Her interest is in the connection between land, place and environment, the stories and imagery to be found in the collected materials and observations are a constant source for inspirations in her projects and collaborations. www.casholmestextiles.co.uk
